FINAL CONFERENCE LIFE TECMINE PROJECT “INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES FOR THE RESTORATION OF MINES”
Next March 31, the FINAL CONFERENCE of the LIFE TECMINE project will be held at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
We will have the opportunity to learn about the results and the lessons learned from the project after almost three years of monitoring after the completion of the restoration work.
The conference will be structured in blocks, first we will know the situation of mining in the Valencian Community and the general data of the LIFE TECMINE project.
Next, the benefits of the geomorphological restoration used will be discussed, as well as the effects on erosion control and water availability. For this we will have the intervention of the SIBELCO company, the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR).
Following this block, the soil and biodiversity recovery process will be explained, from planning to the assessment of ecosystem services. In this block we will have the team of the Center for Environmental Studies of the Mediterranean (CEAM) and the Tormes Foundation.
To continue, the VAERSA team will present the new Technical Guides to support the drafting and evaluation of mine restoration projects, as well as the results obtained from the transfer and networking actions carried out for more than 4 years.
Finally, a round table will be held where the evolution of responsible mining and the Closure of the Conference will be discussed.
You can follow the Conference in person or via streaming.
