COP 16 podcast published on 16 December 2024

The new podcast dedicated to the LIFE TECMINE project is now available. It features an in-depth conversation with Juan Uriol Batuecas, project coordinator and promoter during his time as Head of Forest Planning and Management at the Directorate-General for the Natural and Animal Environment of the Second Vice-Presidency and Regional Ministry for Economic and Social Recovery of the Valencian Community and for the Environment, Infrastructure and Territory.

The interview was recorded in December 2024 in Riyadh, during COP 16, and reviews the project's trajectory, the progress made in restoring mining areas and the importance of applying nature-based solutions in contexts of ecological transition.

In the podcast, Juan Uriol reflects on the technical and management lessons learned, the challenges facing environmental restoration and the role of European cooperation in promoting innovative initiatives such as LIFE TECMINE. He also offers a personal view of the project's evolution since its inception and the impact it has had on improving forest management and planning.
