The LIFE TECMINE project, promoted by the Forest Development and Management Service of the Directorate General for the Natural and Animal Environment, present at the Congress on Plant Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration in the Mediterranean.

The 4th Mediterranean Plant Conservation Week took place from 23 to 27 October 2023 at the Botanical Garden of Valencia.

Entrance to the congress

This fourth edition took place for the first time in Spain. The previous editions took place in Montenegro (2016), Malta (2018) and Greece (2021).

These congresses were launched under the umbrella of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2016. They provide an opportunity for dialogue between specialists and people interested in nature research and management, particularly in the conservation of wild plants and their habitats in the Mediterranean. In this edition, the initial objective of conservation of species and relationships between them has been extended to include the recovery of habitats.

The LIFE TECMINE project presented a poster on the innovative techniques used in the environmental restoration of the Fortuna Mine (Ademuz).
