6th TECMINE Partners Coordination Meeting
The coordination meeting of the LIFE TECMINE project partners was held on 26 May last to discuss and evaluate the actions of the project.
On this occasion, the meeting was held via video-conference due to the state of alarm over the COVID-19 pandemic
Status of the actions:
- The restoration work on the mine has been completed. Last February, the last vegetation sowing was done on the slope.
- Restoration monitoring is underway. During the next two years, indicators of: (1) Topography and hydrology, (2) Ecosystem services and (3) Socio-economic impact will be measured.
- The technical team agrees on the importance of the soil, both for the plant and for the proper functioning of the GeoFluv model.
- In general, the development of the plants is good and the coverage is also good.
- Several projects have been launched to replicate the techniques. One of them is in the Valencia Region.
- The technical restoration guide is being drafted.
- All scheduled events have been postponed due to the alarm situation. They will be carried out when the situation permits.
